vandal(s) vs. my dad's car

well, it took some fucker(s) with no tact to get me back into updating scallen.com, so i guess something good came out of today. i am friggen pissed. i heard a noise outside my house around 2am last night but didn't register that my dad's car was out back and the victim of senseless violence. i had to miss a couple hours of work today to get it cleaned up and get it back on the road.

i'm buying a film scanner on monday. stuck between a Nikon Coolscan IV (2900 dpi, 12 bit a/d conversion, USB connection) and a Coolscan 4000 (4000 dpi, 14 bit, firewire) at double the price... any comments?

once i get that, uploading daily photos, starting with my european tour shots will be a breeze. i also hope to do a minor redesign so you can go thru the Photo of the Day archives using thumbnails to navigate, and... i still need to scan a couple dozen photos to put up the portfolio website that Andrew Draper designed for me ages ago, if the offer to use it is still valid...

congrats to Heather Ryan on her new baby, Mac, weighing in at 5 pounds 2 ounces. send her some design work to help pay for the new addition to her family.
